Makeup trends come and go; some are more flattering than others. It seems to be the trends of the past couple years have really elevated the look of makeup in general and become more and more flattering on the face. Creating a snatched look with high cheek bones, a youthful glow, and lifted appearance. I've recently tried some of the biggest makeup trends and have to tell you - they really do make a difference. Especially if you're wanting that 'makeup' look where it's obvious you're wearing makeup (in a good way).
Here are my 5 most favorite trending makeup tips for snatched makeup:
1. Eyebrow Glue
Lift your eyebrows with eyebrow gel or glue. Brush them upwards and out with the product for a lifted eyebrow that creates a better appearance. This is best done after the rest of your makeup is all set but before setting spray. Sometimes, I'll even use hairspray on a brush for the same effect but I recommend eyebrow glue if you want it to last all day.
2. Trim your eyebrows!
This helps when brushing them upwards so they don't look super crazy or bizarre. Creating a flattering lifted appearance. Trimming your eyebrows also keeps them tame and honestly, it's so much cleaner. Definitely do this about once a week. Simply brush the eyebrows all the way up and trim at the top line of your brow. This is an old trick but definitely worth talking about.
3. Use highlighter to your advantage.
Sometimes I like to use highlighter instead of eyeshadow all together. Placing the highlighter on the inner corner of my eyes, right on my brow bone (below the eyebrows), middle upper lip, and center of the nose. This really gives that snatched look and helps elevate the makeup. Giving brightness instead of dark shadows (like an eyeshadow would). This is important if you're trying to brighten up your face.
4. Place white eyeliner
on the bottom water lines of your eyes to open your eyes. This works wonders. I recommend using a water proof liner for this to help it last longer. I've also played around with white eyeliner on the bottom lash line which is also pretty. Applying black mascara after so that it works more as a highlight, not stark white line from the 90's.
5. Last but not least - cream contour.
I've switched from using powder bronzer and blush to cream bronzer and it has made a world of difference. Seriously, it's gold. I put the cream bronzer (you can also use a dark concealer for this) dotted on where I normally contour and blend away, up and out. This lasts so much longer than powder products and really gives that snatched makeup look. It's such a difference. After blending, I then add powdered blush on the apples of my cheeks (hello youthful glow) and regular powder at my t-zone.
